Create & Send a Push Notification Campaign
Prerequisites
You can create a Push Notification campaign at any time. However, to send it, the following steps must be completed beforehand:
Create a recipient list
Setup
Once you have completed the steps above, you can create and send a Push Notification campaign. Follow these steps:
Navigate to Campaigns in the left sidebar.
Click Create in the top right and select Push Campaign.
Set Up - Step 1/3
Set the campaign name (internal name)
Select a recipient list (who should the campaign be sent to?)
Select a segment (should the recipient list be filtered further?) π‘ The number of recipients will be shown as a reference value.
Add tags (this allows you to categorize the campaign and filter your campaign overview by tags later)
Enable Pre-Actions if desired
π‘ When you enable the Pre-Actions toggle, an intermediate step opens where you can define Pre-Actions to automatically update the dynamic content of the campaign or the data in your recipient list before sending.
Content - Step 2/3
Enable A/B Testing if desired (once enabled, you can switch between the 2 tabs and edit the individual details of each variant)
Set the title (this is the title line displayed to your recipients)
Link and body text (here you can enter a redirect URL as well as the main body text)
Icon (this will be displayed in the Push Notification)
β Important: If you have enabled A/B Testing, you must also configure the settings of step 2 in the other variant as desired.
Send - Step 3/3
In the final step, you will get a preview & summary and can manage tracking and delivery:
Tracking
Track opens (should it be tracked who opened the Push Notification?)
Track clicks (should it be tracked who clicked a link in the Push Notification?)
Track website activity (if the Push Notification links to your website, you can continue tracking user activity after the link is opened, provided a tracking pixel is installed on the website)
Sending
Minimum send duration (over what period should the campaign be sent? This setting helps protect the server, e.g. during a large sale where there is a risk of overloading the online shop due to simultaneous access)
Send test (a modal opens with a 2-step menu: in the first step you can select customer data to test personalized content; in the second step, enter the email addresses of team members who should receive the test message)
Schedule send (a calendar opens, select a send date and time)
Send now (send immediately)
Once the send settings are complete, the campaign will be sent at the desired time. As long as sending has not yet been completed, the campaign overview will show Scheduled or Sending.
