Segment Overview

The new central segment overview lets you keep track of all your target groups at all times—even across databases. Each overview page now also has its own permanent URL (deep link). This means you can easily bookmark links to specific views or share them with your team.

View and filter segments

  1. Navigate to the Data Platform section in the left sidebar and click on Segments.

  2. You will now see an overview of all your segments, neatly sorted by database.

    1. Change view: In the top-right corner, you can choose whether to display the segments as a classic list or as cards for a clearer view.

    2. Search function: Use the search field at the top to search for a specific segment.

    3. Jump directly to the database: When you click "View Segment" for a segment, you’ll automatically jump directly to the corresponding database. The system switches to the list view and has already selected the corresponding segment for you there.

Create Segments

  1. Navigate to Data Platform in the left sidebar.

  2. Select the database on which a segment is to be created.

  3. Click on Select Segmentation in the top menu bar.

  4. Click on Add Segmentation in the selection menu.

  5. Choose a name and description for the segmentation.

  6. Add a Rule or a Group.

  7. If you use multiple rules, first determine whether they are And / Or rules.

And: With an And rule, all specified conditions must apply to a record for it to be displayed.
Or: With the Or rule, the conditions are independent of each other. It is enough if the displayed records meet one of the conditions – but they can also meet several or all conditions.
💡 If you want to combine And & Or rules, use Groups.

  8. Select to which field the rule should be applied.

    • List items: Email, Unsubscribed, Blacklisted, Paused until, Created on, Updated on

    • Metrics: Score, Tags, Geo

    • Campaigns: Interaction type, Campaign name, Campaign value, Any activity, Last activity

    • Database Actions: Action Name, Last Activity

    • Site Tracking: Event, Value, Name, Reference Type, Reference Value, Last Activity

  9. Select a relational operator:

    • = The value is equal

    • != The value is not equal

    • Like Wildcard with placeholder options % and _ to search for a specific pattern in a column

    • > The value is greater than

    • >= The value is greater than or equal to

    • < The value is less than

    • <= The value is less than or equal to

    • Exists The value exists

  10. Specify the value to be checked in the free field.

  11. Click Save/Update at the bottom.

💡 After saving, the created segment is displayed directly. You can check your segmentation by looking at the number under “All results: XX” you can check your segmentation.
