Segment Overview
The new central segment overview lets you keep track of all your target groups at all times—even across databases. Each overview page now also has its own permanent URL (deep link). This means you can easily bookmark links to specific views or share them with your team.
View and filter segments
Navigate to the Data Platform section in the left sidebar and click on Segments.
You will now see an overview of all your segments, neatly sorted by database.
Change view: In the top-right corner, you can choose whether to display the segments as a classic list or as cards for a clearer view.
Search function: Use the search field at the top to search for a specific segment.
Jump directly to the database: When you click "View Segment" for a segment, you’ll automatically jump directly to the corresponding database. The system switches to the list view and has already selected the corresponding segment for you there.
Create Segments
Navigate to Data Platform in the left sidebar.
Select the database on which a segment is to be created.
Click on Select Segmentation in the top menu bar.
Click on Add Segmentation in the selection menu.
Choose a name and description for the segmentation.
Add a Rule or a Group.
If you use multiple rules, first determine whether they are And / Or rules.
And: With an And rule, all specified conditions must apply to a record for it to be displayed.
Or: With the Or rule, the conditions are independent of each other. It is enough if the displayed records meet one of the conditions – but they can also meet several or all conditions.
💡 If you want to combine And & Or rules, use Groups.Select to which field the rule should be applied.
List items: Email, Unsubscribed, Blacklisted, Paused until, Created on, Updated on
Metrics: Score, Tags, Geo
Campaigns: Interaction type, Campaign name, Campaign value, Any activity, Last activity
Database Actions: Action Name, Last Activity
Site Tracking: Event, Value, Name, Reference Type, Reference Value, Last Activity
Select a relational operator:
= The value is equal
!= The value is not equal
Like Wildcard with placeholder options % and _ to search for a specific pattern in a column
> The value is greater than
>= The value is greater than or equal to
< The value is less than
<= The value is less than or equal to
Exists The value exists
Specify the value to be checked in the free field.
Click Save/Update at the bottom.
💡 After saving, the created segment is displayed directly. You can check your segmentation by looking at the number under "All results: XX" you can check your segmentation.
Using Segmentation Templates
We’re excited to introduce our new Segmentation Templates. They save you time and help you get the most out of your data, no matter which channel you use to reach your customers.
Clearly Structured Categories
Whether you want to welcome new subscribers, recover abandoned carts, or reward your most loyal customers – the templates are organized by typical use cases. From Compliance & Opt-In and Purchase Behavior & RFM to Geo & Language: you’ll find what you need right away.
💡 You can also use the search bar for a free-text search.
Intelligent Suggestions
When you select a template, the most important conditions are already pre-filled for you. You can of course adjust them at any time, extend them, or combine them with your own rules. And the best part: many templates are cross-channel – available for email, WhatsApp, and push. This flexibility is what makes JUNE your central data platform, not just a single marketing channel.
Directly Linkable with Workflow Automation
Many templates have a direct 1:1 relationship with Workflow Automations.
💡 Example: Use the segment “Cart abandoners who never purchased” and link it to the “Cart Recovery” automation. Your personalized customer journey for the highest-priority recovery contacts is ready to go.
How to Use the Templates
Navigate to Data Platform > Your database in the left sidebar.
Click Select Segmentation.
Use the template icon between the + and the ? to display the segmentation templates.
Choose the category and template that fits your needs.
If needed, adjust the conditions using the pencil icon and save your new segment.
Do you have feedback or miss a specific template? Just let us know – we’re continuously expanding the library.
Copy a Segment
To copy a rule, select it and click on Copy at the bottom. A copy of the segmentation is automatically created with the name extension "(copy)".
Delete a Segment
To delete a rule, select it using the pencil icon, click Delete at the bottom and confirm the process.
Using Multiple Segments in a Campaign
Since July 2026, you can select and combine multiple segments at once when setting up a campaign. This allows you to reach precise target group combinations with a single campaign – without having to create multiple campaigns.
Simply activate the Multiple Segments toggle in the "Filter by segments" section, choose the desired segments and define the combination logic (AND or OR).
