A valid SSL certificate encrypts the connection and ensures that browsers recognize your site as secure and trustworthy.

If you publish your landing page via JUNE and see a "Not secure" warning in the browser's URL bar, the right SSL certificate for this hosting connection is either missing or hasn't been activated properly.

This article shows you how to check your SSL certificate's status and install it.

Requirements and permissions

Viewing hosting connections, as well as generating and installing SSL certificates, requires administrative access rights in your JUNE account.

  • With administrator rights: You can check and install the certificate yourself by following the steps below.

  • Without administrator rights: If you do not have access to the administration settings, please reach out to your company's administrator to have the certificate activated.

1. Checking the SSL status and installing the certificate

Follow these steps to activate the SSL certificate for your hosting connection:

  1. Click on Administration in the left sidebar.

  2. Switch to the Hosting tab in the top menu bar. You will now see a table containing all your saved hosting connections.

  3. Find the hosting connection that your landing page is using.

  4. In the Actions column on the far right, click the three-dot menu () next to the corresponding entry and select Edit.

The current status of the SSL certificate will now be displayed in the panel:

  • Red status: The certificate is not yet active or needs to be verified. Click the three-dot menu and select Verify to trigger the domain validation.

  • Green status: The certificate is successfully installed and active.

  • Ready for installation: Click the three-dot menu again and select Install. The SSL certificate will now be automatically generated and stored on the server in the background.

2. Important final step: Republishing your page

Simply installing the SSL certificate is not enough to apply the changes to your live website.

Once the certificate is successfully installed, you must republish the associated landing page project. This new publishing process is required to activate the secure HTTPS connection for your visitors.

After that, the warning in the browser will disappear, and your landing page will securely display the padlock icon as expected.
