Add a New List Field

  1. Click on List in the left sidebar and then select the list you want to edit.

  2. Go to the Settings tab.

  3. Click Create Field.

  4. Choose a Technical Name.

πŸ’‘ The technical name can be used in other places to dynamically display or query the information stored in this field. For example, when writing an email, use [%=firstname%] if the technical name for the first name is "firstname". The technical name should always be in lowercase and written together.

  5. Choose a Label.

πŸ’‘ The label will be displayed as the heading of the field.

  6. Specify the Type of the list element

The list element type indicates what kind of field it should be and in which format it can be filled in.

  7. Specify a Validation Type and the desired number of characters, if needed.

πŸ’‘ Specify the length of the user's input. If the user uses too few/many characters, he/she will receive an error message.

  8. Use the switch to mark the list field as required.

  9. Enable Public Read Only if desired.

πŸ’‘ All users can view records of this list item, but not edit them.
